Keep in mind while looking at the NTSB home page that when you are searching the database you shouldn't be looking at just the current registration number, you should also be looking at the past numbers that have been assigned to the aircraft.  Then if a record is found, you need to confirm, usually by dates, that this was your aircraft. 

While no system is fail proof when it comes to the searches, doing it yourself at a minimum requires that you know these numbers.  So if you look up your registration number and nothing turns up, then that doesn't mean it's all clear.  As well their is an FAA database which should also be searched for incidents which were not of a nature which involved the NTSB.

We only provide this page and information because some sites don't explain that the above is the case.  They simply tell you to enter and N-Number then tell you no results came back, and that is pretty deceiving in our book.
